+ What type of equipment and what methods are used to clean?

Lamar Cleaning uses a truck mounted hot water extraction system. Our system and tolls are newer, high quality, and reliable. The machine puts out 230 degrees of steam to knock out most stains put in front of it.

+ Should I do anything before you arrive?

  1. Advise your Cleaning Specialist upon arrival about any special requirements on moving your furniture, weak legs, loose tops, etc.

  2. Move any furniture that is not included in your chosen package. Expect it to be off the carpet for 24 hours.

  3. Please pin up any draperies, bed skirts, or furniture skirts that are touching the floor.

  4. Remove all items from furniture that will need temporarily moved to clean.

  5. Heavy furniture will need to be completely emptied for us to move it. (Ex: china cabinets, bookcaases, etc.) Other furniture will need to be cleared on top. (Ex: dressers, end tables, night stands, etc.)

  6. Please call to our attention any spots or stains that you are particularly concerned about. We have specialized spot removers depending on the stain.

  7. For your pet’s peace of mind (and ours) please put them in a safe place where our cleaning won’t disturb them.

  8. Please remove small, loose items from floor. For example, clothes, toys, newspapers, baskets, and any other clutter that covers the floor.

  9. If you need to reschedule or cancel just let us know 24 hours in advance, if possible.

  10. Please have your driveway cleared closest to your door to allow our van access to your home.

  11. We include pre-vacuuming in our 10 step cleaning process, however, the more times it is vacuumed before the cleaning the better.

  12. If we apply carpet protection, plan on minimizing foot traffic for at least 4 hours.

+ What if I need to cancel?

No problem. Please call at least 24 hours before your scheduled cleaning to cancel and reschedule for another appointment.

+ Who will be cleaning my house?

Two certified owner/operators in uniform. Michael and Kayla.

+ Do you move furniture?

Yes. Furniture moving is depending on which package you choose. We can move most furniture for you. Our full service and protection packages both have furniture moving options included. All furniture must be completely cleared of all items. Including inside of curio cabinets, entertainment centers, china cabinets, etc.

+ What if YOU break something?

You will be immediately informed if any item is broken in your home. Every team member is extremely careful, but accidents do happen. We will repair or replace the broken item if we are at fault.

+ How do I pay?

You can pay with cash, check, or credit card. Payment is due the day of the service.

+ Are your products safe?

Any product left in the carpet is safe for pets, children, and you.

+ How long will it take to clean my carpets?

There are many factors to determine the answer to this question. It depends on which package you select, amount of stains, level of soil, amount of space to be cleaned, etc. A typical three room cleaning will take from one and a half to two and a half hours.

+ How often should I vacuum my carpets?

Vacuuming at least once a week helps with dust mites, matting, and other damage from soil accumulating on the fibers.

+ Do you vacuum the carpet?

Yes. We always vacuum before we clean. This is one of the most important steps to a thorough cleaning.

+ How do I maintain my carpet between professional cleanings?

  • Vacuum regularly. Dirts and oils can accumulate, and this will give your carpet a dingy appearance.
  • Wear your socks as often as possible. Our feet collect a lot of dirt and hold a lot of oil and dead skin. This will cause your carpet to brown, and even vacuuming can't pick up everything.
  • Use our free bottle of spotter on the small stains that happen between your cleanings.
  • Have door mats at entrances. Have walk off rugs.
  • Take your shoes off at the door.

+ Can I walk on it after it's clean?

We suggest limiting traffic for at least 4 hours after cleaning. This is especially true when we apply carpet protector.

+ When can I remove tabs and blocks?

You can remove these 24 hours after your cleaning. Without these protective steps, your furniture can stain the wet carpet.

+ I am sensitive to chemicals. What can we do about this?

We have products that are hypeallergenic, soap free, and biodegradable. Please let us know before we arrive if you have allergies or sensitivities.

+ What time will you get here?

We give you a one or two hour time frame. A text message is automatically sent to you when we are in route.

+ How long does it take for carpets to dry?

Your carpet usually dries to the touch within three hours. Adding carpet protection or deodorizer can lengthen this time. Always allow 24 hours before tabs or blocks on furniture are moved.

+ Why do some stains reappear?

There are instances where stains have penetrated the carpet backing into the pad. Stains can possibly wick back up and reappear. This usually happens with heavily stained areas that have been allowed to sit there for a while.

+ Can you fix the indents from the furniture?

We can get most indents out. It all depends on type and quality of the carpet. How long the furniture has sat there plays a role as well.
